The Best Homemade Whiskey BBQ Sauce


Tangy...sticky...packing a punch that would give your  life some meaning. Dramatic? Maybe so. But let me tell you, this baby will make you ask for more. 

I have an obsession with BBQ Chicken Pizza. Like psycho ex-girlfriend kind of obsessed. I just love the burst in your mouth feel this sauce gives. And I want to share that experience with you guys.


Although there are millions of recipes out there, I find this bunch works the best for me.


If you have more time and got a blender on hand, you can totally substitute onion and garlic powder to real ones. Just make sure to blend away to achieve that smooth consistency. 


Proceed with caution my dear Filipino friends. This is different from our traditional Pinoy BBQ Sauce. I am sorry to disappoint. 



However, if you give this a try, you'd know you can literally pair this with everything. I had actually used this with my famous smoky BBQ Chicken + California Chicken Pizza. The taste? So divine. 

       
                 

So without further adieu, here is the recipe for the Easiest Homemade BBQ Sauce ever. 









The Best Homemade Whiskey BBQ Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Whiskey
1 tbsp onion powder or 1 small onion, diced to finely
1 tbsp garlic powder or 1 clove of garlic
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp ground cumin
2 tsp pepper flakes or cayenne pepper
2 Cups Ketchup
1/4 Cup Vinegar
2 tbsp of Tomato Paste
1/4 Cup Worcestershire Sauce
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1 tbsp dijon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste

Procedure

1. With medium heat, add whiskey of your choice in a sauce pot. Bring to a low boil.
2. Add in onion and garlic powder. Mix for 30 seconds. If you want the more organic way, add in freshly chopped onion and garlic. Let it simmer for 2 minutes.
3. Throw in the rest of the ingredients. Stir until combine.
4. Turn the heat to low. Then, let it do its own thing for 15-20 minutes.
5. If you used onion + garlic powder, you can now savor your own BBQ sauce. However, if you went the extra mile to make yours even tastier, we have to let the mixture cool for about 5-10 minutes. Then proceed with blending the life out of it. After that? Enjoy!

**You can use it right away or store it in the fridge for 24 hours so the flavors would infuse together.
**This goes right with ribs, pulled pork, chicken and pizza.
